Mies made Stonehenge in Chicago

Watch his work line up with the sun.

If you’re near a Mies building on June 21, the summer solstice, be sure to check out the sun coming through the glass and around the columns. Twice a year, the sun joins the axis of the rest of Mies’ world. It’s quite moving. IIT is the best place to be. Here’s a photo of 340 W. Diversey, Mies’ Commonwealth Plaza, yesterday.
