A spire aspires
Here’s an image I hadn’t seen, of the original plans for the
Calatrava Tower in Chicago. On the left you see Lake Point Tower.

Romantic no? The way it gracefully tapers up and flows down.
And the spire on top makes a gracefully soft connection to the heavens, as material meets immaterial.

I’m sure that if this ever gets built, Calatrava would let grow out the flat-top haircut he recently gave this design.
