Georg a palooza!?!

This, from a press release.

The bust of Sir Georg Solti (how I miss him and his music! -Ed.) originally installed in Lincoln Park in 1987, will be moved to Grant Park, to the southeast corner of Michigan and Jackson, just south of the Art Institute of Chicago and diagonally across the street from Symphony Center. It will also mark the creation of the Solti Gardens.

Here’s the part I really like:

“The new Solti Gardens, with landscaping to be completed over the next twelve months,

was made possible by funds raised through Lollapalooza,

the rock festival held earlier this summer in Grant Park.”

What would the distinguished Sir Georg have thought?

By the way, here’s a photo of his grave,

in Farkasreti Cemetery
in Budapest, Hungary
He is buried next to Bela Bartok.

I was honored to be at the service in Budapest on that day.
